Robotic cardiac compression device using artificial muscle filaments for the treatment of heart failure

Phan et al. introduce a robotic cardiac compression device made from fluid-driven soft artificial muscle filaments for the treatment of heart failure. The proposed device can be wrapped around the failing heart and simultaneously produces radial, axial, and torsional movements, potentially augmenting the pumping function of the failing heart.
