Australia’s Wildlife

First of all, rainbow lorikeets. They are not afraid of people, love bread and adapt well to urban life. While feeding, they are too noisy and aggressive towards other birds, even ravens and magpies.

Another bird, ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce to you the most intelligent bird I have ever met – the hitchhiking myna. It is a master of light rail hitchhiking. It WALKED in and out of the carriage with its bloody confidence, boarding at off-peak hours on weekends with the carriage almost empty. Okay smart ass, you have proven your point, why fly when you can free-ride. Caution! Please do not follow this action. It is not worth risking a $200 fine.

The iconic kangaroo, of course, is a must in this list. Unlike their muscular red cousins in the West, these Jervis Bay kangaroos are grey and rather small. They are friendly yet wary of humans, still venturing near campsites and parking lots. Understandable! Who can resist an easy juicy apple?

Marine life is such a big part of Australia that I absolutely love it! Try fishing, kayaking, snorkelling, and more, and you will be amazed at the spectacular flora and fauna the ocean has to offer.

For dolphin lovers, do not hesitate to book a Dolphin Watching cruise in Port Stephens. You will have the opportunity to observe dolphins in their natural habitat. If luck is on your side, they may approach and swim with your cruise. Trust me! This experience will stay in your heart for a long time.

Life is beautiful, keep exploring!
